Bandits have killed at least 19 people, injured several others, and abducted residents from various communities in Katsina State.

Local sources informed Daily Trust that four individuals were killed and one injured during an early morning raid in Ammarawa village on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

At the same time, bandits attacked Dan Gani village, resulting in one death and the abduction of seven others.

In Tudu village, a woman named Saude was kidnapped around 9 a.m. on the same day.

Earlier, on Monday, four people were killed and several others injured in an attack on Kukasheka village in Kankara LGA.

Residents voiced their frustration, lamenting that banditry has made it nearly impossible to safely harvest crops.

One resident shared a personal tragedy, recounting that his father was attacked on their family farm just two days after his brother had been killed by the same group.

He explained that his father, who suffered a severe head injury, passed away in the hospital nine days later.

Additionally, a separate attack in Unguwar Dan Marka, Guga district in Bakori Local Government Area resulted in sporadic gunfire that left eight people dead, including one Usman Unguwa, with three others injured.
