Babcock University Sues Carter Efe Over Fake Degree Allegations

Babcock University is pursuing legal action against streamer Carter Efe for allegedly forging a university certificate and claiming a First Class Upper degree that the institution does not offer.

Babcock University has initiated legal proceedings against Nigerian content creator Carter Efe following his claims of academic credential forgery. During a conversation with the influencer known as Egungun of Lagos, Carter Efe asserted that he graduated from the private institution with a First Class Upper degree in Biochemistry, subsequently posting what he presented as his diploma on X.

In an official statement published this Sunday, Babcock University dismissed these claims as entirely false. The institution clarified that it does not utilize a First Class Upper grading system, nor does it grant honorary certificates for undergraduate studies. The university labeled the document shared by the streamer as a fraudulent fabrication and warned the public to ignore it, advising individuals to authenticate any credentials directly through their Office of the Registrar. The school emphasized its commitment to taking formal legal measures against anyone involved in such acts of deception.
