Piero Hincapie has officially transitioned from a loan player to a permanent fixture at Arsenal after his initial spell from Bayer Leverkusen. The transfer was solidified following an agreement reached last summer, which involved a fee of 45 million pounds, equivalent to 52 million euros, for the Ecuadorian defender. Throughout the previous season, the 24-year-old versatile player, capable of operating as either a center-back or left-back, featured 39 times for manager Mikel Arteta as the squad secured the Premier League title.
Bayer Leverkusen confirmed that the necessary criteria for the purchase option were successfully fulfilled, ensuring Hincapie remains with the North London club for future seasons. Currently, the defender is participating in the World Cup with the Ecuador national team, with a match against Germany scheduled for Thursday.
