The Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria, known as APFFLON, has called upon Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe to turn promises of energy reform into tangible grid enhancements. The organization emphasized that the nation can no longer sustain the financial burden caused by constant electricity instability.
In an official statement released Tuesday, National President Otunba Frank Ogunojemite identified the energy crisis as a primary obstacle to national industrial progress and foreign investment. Ogunojemite argued that achieving global economic competitiveness is impossible without consistent power, noting that reliable electricity is essential for job creation and business stability.
The group highlighted that local manufacturers, importers, and exporters are currently suffering as companies close down or move to more stable regions, exacerbating unemployment. Furthermore, the reliance on fuel-powered generators has driven up operating expenses, making Nigerian goods less competitive across Africa.
Ogunojemite concluded by stating that the Minister’s legacy will be defined by actual improvements in power accessibility and affordability rather than policy rhetoric. He urged the government to prioritize consistent supply to foster a better environment for commercial growth.
