The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has officially announced that Vice President Kashim Shettima will remain President Bola Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential campaign. The party chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, confirmed the submission of their presidential nomination forms on Friday via social media.
Yilwatda noted that this selection signifies the party’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda and ongoing national development. The formal submission effectively ends widespread public speculation that suggested the President might choose a new vice-presidential candidate for the next election cycle.
During a ceremony at the Continental Hotel in Abuja, Hon. Ibrahim Masari, the Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, presented the documents on behalf of President Tinubu. The event was well-attended by high-ranking party figures, including Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, and various state governors such as Babagana Umara Zulum and Uba Sani.
The APC leadership emphasized that this event demonstrates their unified goal of seeking a renewed mandate. Moving forward, the party plans to prioritize grassroots engagement and the promotion of its economic and security initiatives across Nigeria.
