Andrew and Tristan Tate apprehended in Miami following UK extradition request

US Marshals have arrested Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami as British authorities seek their extradition to face 59 new charges including rape and human trafficking.

Social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were taken into custody on Saturday in Miami by the US Marshals Service. The arrests follow a request from the United Kingdom for the siblings to face trial on multiple counts including rape, sex trafficking, and physical assault. While the US Marshals confirmed the detentions, they noted that the specific details of the sealed warrant could not be publicly released at this time.

Video footage circulated by TMZ shows law enforcement officers detaining the pair. British prosecutors have confirmed they are actively pursuing extradition. The Crown Prosecution Service disclosed that the brothers now face 59 charges, with 42 against Andrew and 17 against Tristan. Malcolm McHaffie, representing the CPS, stated that these new allegations incorporate claims of sexual exploitation and the possession of indecent images involving a child, based on recent evidence provided by Bedfordshire Police.

These developments add to ongoing legal trouble for the brothers, who are already under investigation for alleged tax evasion, money laundering, and separate historical sexual assault claims in the UK. Additionally, the pair faces trafficking charges in Romania. Attorney Joseph McBride has maintained his clients’ innocence, describing the arrest as an overreach of authority and expressing confidence that the brothers will be cleared by a judge. The Tates hold dual citizenship in the US and the UK and have previously gained significant notoriety for their controversial online presence.
