Faith Ekwebenam, representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss International Nigeria 2025, securing the chance to represent the country at the 63rd Miss International pageant slated for November 27, 2025, at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.
Ekwebenam emerged winner at Sunday’s grand finale after outshining contestants from across the country. Miss Lagos finished as first runner-up, while Miss Bauchi, Miss Edo, Miss Cross River, and Miss Nasarawa placed second to fifth runners-up.
Her victory continues Nigeria’s steady presence at Miss International, following Perpetual Ukadike’s participation in the 2024 edition. Known as one of the world’s “Big Four” beauty contests, Miss International celebrates beauty, cultural exchange, and global goodwill.
In a separate contest in Lagos, fellow Anambra delegate Onyinyechi Basil was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, triumphing over Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in a dramatic finale. Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, placed second and third runners-up respectively.
The twin victories mark an unprecedented feat, with Anambra now holding both of Nigeria’s most prestigious international crowns in the same year.
With Ekwebenam preparing for Miss International in Tokyo and Basil gearing up for Miss Universe later this year, industry watchers say all eyes will be on Nigeria’s performance on the global stage.
