Atiku Accuses Akpabio Of Mistreating Women During His Time As Governor
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of mistreating women, even during his tenure as the governor of Akwa Ibom.
Atiku made this statement following the sexu@l harassment allegations brought against Akpabio by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
During a recent interview with journalist Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie on the program Untold Stories, Atiku was asked whether there were reports of corruption against Akpabio during his time as governor.
In response, he said:
‘’Yes. Not only was he corrupt, but he also had a history of abusing women.”
Regarding the 2027 elections, Atiku was asked whether he plans to run for President again and who would lead any coalition aiming to unseat the current government.
In response, the former Vice President said:
‘’In 2014, we had a similar merger, with several candidates contesting. We all ran for president and one emerged, and we all supported him. Nigeria has never been in greater need of credible leadership than now.
When asked whether he was surprised by the swift approval of the state of emergency by the National Assembly, Atiku responded:
‘’No. The leadership is corrupt, and I have no apologies for saying that. They could do anything. The Senate President is known for such behavior, even as a governor”
