Speaking during a discussion with Nedu Wazobia, Josh2Funny acknowledged that while this trend is controversial, it functions as both an asset and a liability for the industry.
Defending these creators, Josh2Funny pushed back against critics who demand high intellectual standards in comedy. He maintained that humor was never intended to be purely intellectual. Referencing his own early career as the character Mama Felicia, he admitted his initial sketches were nonsensical rather than articulate, yet they contributed to a thriving entertainment sector.
The comedian suggested that the scrutiny faced by modern influencers, such as Peller, stems from the amplification caused by social media. He argued that public figures are often targeted by trolls out of jealousy regarding their success without formal education. Ultimately, Josh2Funny questioned the harsh standards placed on these creators, asking if critics would prefer them to turn to crime instead of pursuing content creation.
