Former Premier League Star Aleksandar Mitrovic Hospitalized in Saudi Arabia Due to ‘Rapid Heartbeat’

Former Fulham and Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been hospitalized due to a rapid heartbeat caused by physical stress, according to reports from Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old Serbian international, currently playing for Al-Hilal, was forced to miss training due to the condition. His health is now being closely monitored by the club, and he remains a doubt for Tuesday’s Asian Champions League clash against Uzbek side Pakhtakor.

Mitrovic was admitted to the hospital early Sunday morning and has been advised to take complete rest.

‘The medical staff has decided to rest Aleksandar Mitrovic from Sunday’s training due to feeling fatigue and arrhythmias,’ Al-Hilal said in a statement.

‘He will be observed accurately by specialists, as his case will be monitored constantly.’ 

Mitrovic made a high-profile move to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 and has since become a sensation at his new club, scoring an impressive 40 goals in his debut season.
