Professor Chris Imumolen, the factional National Chairman of the Accord party, claims that Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is heading toward an election loss. In a statement released through Israel Jagunmolu, Imumolen suggested that the governor’s political tenure is threatened by both the upcoming ballot and a persistent legal battle regarding the leadership of the Accord party.
Urging residents to reconsider supporting the incumbent, Imumolen stated that voters should avoid backing a candidate unlikely to succeed. He further emphasized that even a victory at the polls would not shield the governor from potential legal repercussions. The dispute between rival factions is currently being heard at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Imumolen expressed optimism that his faction will prevail in the judicial proceedings. He noted that the case has already moved through the Court of Appeal and asserts that the litigation is fundamental to the party’s recognized leadership structure. Ultimately, Imumolen maintains that Adeleke remains vulnerable to challenges regardless of the election results.
