Ademola Odudu, the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ondo State, has rejected allegations that a court has removed him from his position. In a Tuesday interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Akure, Odudu labeled these claims as entirely unfounded.
Odudu explained that the Ondo State branch was not included in the November 2024 Court of Appeal ruling regarding the union’s national leadership. He emphasized that he was not a party to any litigation, nor was he listed as a defendant in the case mentioned by critics. According to Odudu, the legal dispute centered on former leaders based in Lagos and Abuja, leaving the Ondo chapter unaffected.
The chairman firmly denied that any court had issued an order for him to step down or for the installation of an interim committee. He reinforced his legitimacy, stating that he remains the constitutionally elected leader of the state union. Odudu concluded by inviting anyone who disputes his authority to produce official documentation, reiterating that no caretaker arrangement exists within the Ondo State branch.
