Air Peace, Nigeria’s premier airline, has expressed regret to travelers following flight cancellations at Lagos and Abuja airports. These interruptions stemmed from protest actions initiated by labor groups.
Representatives from the Nigeria Labour Congress, the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, and the Trade Union Congress blocked entry points at Murtala Muhammed Airport’s Terminals 1 and 2 in Lagos. Similar actions occurred at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, effectively grounding aircraft scheduled to leave both locations.
In an official statement, the airline noted that these blockades stopped passengers from reaching their departure gates, leading to widespread schedule delays throughout their network. Management confirmed they are actively reaching out to travelers affected by this situation, which they described as being outside of their operational control. Updates are being provided to those with pending flights as the circumstances unfold.
