The Nigerian Law School has officially reported the death of 23-year-old student Faith Alayande. Alayande, who was enrolled at the Enugu Campus, died after falling from a hostel rooftop at the Lagos Campus during her externship program.
According to Aderonke Osho, the school’s Director of Administration, the incident took place early Friday, August 7, 2026, at approximately 4 a.m. Preliminary reports suggest she fell from the roof and did not survive. The school is currently coordinating with law enforcement and the victim’s relatives to investigate the cause of the tragedy.
The institution expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to those mourning Alayande. They also requested that the public respect the family’s privacy during this period. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that they have initiated an investigation after being notified by the hostel matron. Early accounts from fellow students suggest that a note was discovered prior to the event, leading to a search for the student before she was found.
