The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has officially opened seat sales for the 2027 Hajj. This proactive step encourages residents to register early to satisfy mandates established by the Saudi Arabian government and Nigeria’s National Hajj Commission. According to Agency Chairman Alhaji Aliyu Musa, the state has received an allocation of 2,723 spots for the upcoming pilgrimage.
Officials emphasize that beginning registration now helps avoid the stress of last-minute rushes and ensures thorough planning. Saudi authorities have set a September 26 deadline for completing fare payments. Currently, the agency has set a tentative fee of N7.7 million, though this figure may change based on fluctuating costs for logistics, lodging, and meals.
To maintain transparency and prevent errors, the agency mandates that all payments be completed personally by the pilgrims rather than through intermediaries. The state government remains focused on facilitating a seamless experience and continues to support the agency’s operational goals.
