All Progressives Congress figure Joe Igbokwe has publicly faulted Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke for switching from the Peoples Democratic Party to the Accord Party before the upcoming gubernatorial election.
Igbokwe characterized the move as a major error, suggesting that the governor would have been better served by aligning with the APC. He noted that President Bola Tinubu maintains personal family connections within Osun State.
Sharing his thoughts on Facebook, Igbokwe remarked that Adeleke erred by choosing the Accord Party over the ruling APC, given the President’s roots in the state. Reports indicate that Adeleke is running for office on the Accord Party ticket following his exit from the PDP.
Amidst the campaign, Governor Adeleke has reported instances of harassment and intimidation directed at his constituents by federal entities. He further alleged that supporters have faced arrests and violence as part of a broader strategy to hinder his re-election campaign. The governor maintains that various federal institutions are being leveraged to obstruct his electoral efforts.
