The construction of the service lane for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will impact 147 structures across Lagos. President Bola Tinubu announced this during a stakeholder event in Lagos, where he also officially launched repair works for the Eko Bridge, the Marine Bridge, and a flooded segment of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Represented by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the President clarified that while 147 buildings will be affected, only five will face total demolition, while the remaining structures will sustain minimal impact. During the event, the President highlighted the historical significance of the Eko Bridge and the importance of the Marine Bridge for port access.
President Tinubu urged the state government to continue its current path of steady development. He commended Minister of Works Sen. Dave Umahi for his dedication to infrastructure improvements. Addressing the public, the President assured residents that the federal government is committed to providing compensation where appropriate, stating that support would be issued at the proper time. He concluded by asking for continued public cooperation to ensure these infrastructure projects provide lasting benefits to the nation.
