Italian side Como has officially signed defender Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea in a transfer valued at over £30m. The 27-year-old committed to a five-year agreement with the team managed by Cesc Fabregas, which qualified for the Champions League after a fourth-place finish in Serie A last season.
The financial arrangement includes an upfront payment of £25.7m, with an additional £5.1m contingent on performance-related clauses. This move concludes Chalobah’s tenure at his childhood club, which spanned nearly two decades after he joined at age eight.
Fabregas, a former teammate of Chalobah at Stamford Bridge, described the defender as an essential signing that reflects the club’s growing ambition. Chalobah expressed his excitement about joining the project and reuniting with Fabregas. During his time at Chelsea, the England international made 151 appearances and secured five titles, including the 2018 FA Cup and the 2025 Conference League. His career also included loan spells at Ipswich, Huddersfield, Lorient, and Crystal Palace.
