Father of musician Rolex Dee passes away following report of son’s medical crisis in jail

Nigerian musician Rolex Dee’s father has died shortly after hearing that his son was vomiting blood while detained by the police.

The father of Nigerian artist Afunso Ridwan Abiola, widely recognized as Rolex Dee, has passed away. Reports indicate the elder man died shortly after learning that his son, currently held in police custody, had been vomiting blood.

The details emerged through a viral social media video featuring Rolex Dee’s mother, captured during her former husband’s funeral services. She stated that the couple had recently visited musician Taye Currency to plead for their son’s release, only for that encounter to be filmed and shared publicly. The mother expressed deep anguish, noting that her son remains incarcerated and is unable to attend his father’s burial.

Furthermore, the mother criticized authorities for failing to provide medical attention to her son despite his deteriorating health. Rolex Dee was formerly associated with Taye Currency but faced arrest after a conflict between the two, which led the younger musician to disclose various allegations against his former employer. The family is now seeking public assistance to help secure the singer’s liberation.
