Fulham set to sign Shea Charles for £30m

Fulham has agreed to a £30m fee for Southampton’s Shea Charles, who will sign a five-year deal to become the most expensive Northern Irish footballer ever.

Fulham have successfully negotiated a transfer for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles in an agreement valued at £30 million. The 22-year-old is expected to finalize a five-year deal at Craven Cottage pending a medical examination, which will establish him as the costliest Northern Ireland player in history.

Previously with Manchester City, Charles chose the move to west London over interest from Leeds United. He joins the squad as a replacement for Sasa Lukic, who recently transferred to Ipswich Town. This marks the third acquisition for the club under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa, who took charge following Marco Silva’s exit to Benfica. Arbeloa previously secured Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid. Fulham prepares for an upcoming friendly against Stuttgart on August 15, followed by their Premier League curtain-raiser against Chelsea on August 24.
