However, officials noted that significant economic interventions are not expected until the budget in October, as Chancellor John Healey maintains a policy of fiscal discipline.
Concurrently, the government remains under scrutiny regarding its plans for the early release of prisoners in England and Wales. Despite public backlash from the family of PC Andrew Harper and political opponents, the administration has stated that the current policy—which allows for the release of certain manslaughter offenders—remains unchanged due to prison capacity constraints.
