Odigie Moses, an individual residing in Edo State, was taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following accusations of sextortion. The commission stated that the suspect operated out of Ekpoma and claimed to possess spiritual healing abilities.
Authorities reported that Moses connected with the victim on the Zelle platform after she contacted him regarding personal struggles. During their interaction, he instructed her to engage in a ritualistic bath while he secretly filmed the proceedings. He then used the unauthorized footage to coerce her, threatening to leak the content unless she paid a ransom.
The victim complied with these demands, transferring $1,100 to the suspect. The EFCC has confirmed that the investigation is active and that formal charges will be filed against Moses once their findings are finalized.
