Nigeria Prepares for First Wheelchair American Football Exhibition

AFEDEV will host its first Wheelchair American Football exhibition in Lagos on September 10 to promote inclusion and adaptive sports in Nigeria.

The American Football for Educational Development (AFEDEV) is set to launch a Wheelchair American Football exhibition in Nigeria to foster inclusivity and leadership. Scheduled for September 10 in Lagos, the event serves as the introduction of this sport to the country.

Josiah Orie, the media coordinator for AFEDEV, confirmed the details in a recent press statement. The exhibition is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Outdoor Basketball Arena, located within the National Stadium in Lagos.

Orie highlighted that the initiative aims to promote an adaptive sport that provides equal opportunities and encourages community involvement for individuals with disabilities. Various stakeholders, including government bodies, diplomatic representatives, businesses, academic institutions, and disability advocacy groups, are expected to attend this inaugural event.
