Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven is reportedly nearing a new five-year contract extension. The Dutch international, who moved to the club from Wolfsburg in 2023, is currently tied to a deal lasting until 2029.
Reports suggest the 25-year-old had previously contemplated his future at the club, but the arrival of manager Roberto de Zerbi in March shifted his perspective. De Zerbi, who helped secure Tottenham’s Premier League survival, played a pivotal role in the player’s choice to commit to new terms.
Speaking on the club’s direction, Van de Ven noted the positive changes and renewed ambition within the squad. After two difficult seasons finishing in 17th place, the defender is optimistic about adopting a more offensive style of play under the new leadership, moving away from the struggles of the previous campaign.
