Real Madrid Completes Acquisition of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig

Real Madrid has signed 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig on a seven-year contract in a deal potentially worth 140 million euros.

Real Madrid has secured the services of Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande, finalizing a deal with RB Leipzig that could reach 140 million euros (£120m). The 19-year-old winger has committed to a seven-year agreement, with a total cost potentially exceeding the club’s 2023 investment in Jude Bellingham.

Paris St-Germain withdrew from the pursuit after their offer of £102.5m was declined, while Liverpool had previously failed in their attempt to sign the player earlier this summer as they looked for a replacement for Mohamed Salah. Diomande joins Jose Mourinho’s squad as the sixth summer arrival, following teammates like Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate.

The teenager enjoyed a standout 2025-26 campaign, earning the Bundesliga Young Player of the Season award after contributing 12 goals and eight assists. His international experience includes representing Ivory Coast in all four of their World Cup matches.

Known for his versatility and speed, Diomande can operate on either flank. Real Madrid expects his ability to navigate one-on-one situations and his creative output to address their need for stability on the right wing. His progression from a US academy to Leganes and then to Germany has been rapid, culminating in this high-profile move to the Spanish capital.
