Real Madrid has secured a deal with RB Leipzig to bring Ivorian winger Yan Diomande to the Santiago Bernabéu this summer. Reports from Marca indicate that the agreement was completed on Thursday morning, and the 19-year-old has already arrived in Madrid for his medical checks.
This transfer is poised to become the largest expenditure in the history of the club. Real Madrid is set to pay a base fee of €125 million, with an additional €10 million to €15 million possible through performance-related clauses. This move pushes the club’s total summer transfer spending past the €300 million mark, following earlier acquisitions such as Marc Cucurella, Carlos Espai, and Denzel Dumfries, alongside free transfers for Ibrahima Konaté and Bernardo Silva.
While the club has invested heavily, they have also recouped €184.5 million through the sale of academy players. Furthermore, Diomande’s arrival will not impact the club’s current contract talks with Vinicius Junior. Although Arsenal has expressed interest in the Brazilian forward, he remains under contract with Madrid until the conclusion of next season.
