Martins Otse, an activist frequently called VeryDarkMan, has signaled his willingness to comply with a summons from the Nigeria Police Force. He is prepared to address the accusations he leveled against Assistant Inspector-General of Police Moshood Jimoh, who oversees the Zone 2 Command, provided the procedure is handled openly.
This stance was clarified through a formal statement released Wednesday by his attorney, Deji Adeyanju, via social media. The police previously requested that Otse report to the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja to present evidence backing his claims. Force spokesperson CSP Ani Iniedu stated on Tuesday that the institution is dedicated to maintaining discipline and legal protocols throughout this inquiry.
Authorities confirmed that both AIG Jimoh and Otse have been summoned to facilitate the probe. While Otse’s legal counsel expressed readiness to assist the investigation, they emphasized the necessity for public accountability. Consequently, they requested that members of the Nigerian Bar Association, alongside various civil society groups, act as independent observers during the session. Furthermore, the legal team insists that Otse be allowed to have his lawyer present for the duration of the questioning to ensure accuracy and fairness.
