Everton has strengthened its midfield by securing Danish international Christian Norgaard from Arsenal for an unrevealed transfer sum.
The 32-year-old athlete has committed to a two-year contract with the Merseyside club. Norgaard previously moved to the Emirates Stadium from Brentford last year but only managed seven starts during Arsenal’s successful Premier League title campaign.
As the fourth addition to the Everton roster this summer, Norgaard shared his motivations with the club’s official media outlet on Wednesday. He expressed a desire for a fresh start and a more significant role on the pitch. After discussions with manager David Moyes and other club officials regarding the team’s future vision, Norgaard felt convinced that joining Everton was the right path. He also noted his excitement about experiencing the atmosphere at Goodison Park from the perspective of a home player, describing the opportunity as a major honor.
