The emergency session in Rabat was called by Infantino to address intense backlash regarding his failed bid to sell commercial rights to private equity groups.
Uefa had publicly voiced its disapproval over the weekend, labeling the proposal as an opaque and unprofessional arrangement. Inside FIFA, dissent was also evident, with secretary general Mattias Grafstrom issuing an internal memo on Tuesday describing the recent developments as both sad and worthy of reproach. Despite these internal tensions, Grafstrom and the management board issued a formal statement after the meeting confirming their absolute support for Infantino’s presidency.
