Law enforcement officials from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command successfully seized two FN FAL rifles along with live ammunition during a recent mission against criminal gangs.
SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the command, stated on Wednesday that the operation occurred within the Dajin Madam forest, a region bordering Plateau and Bauchi states. This action served as a continuation of inquiries following the detention of four individuals accused of trafficking illegal arms, munitions, and banned substances to criminal groups.
Officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit executed the search on August 2, 2026, utilizing intelligence gathered from a detainee named Musbahu Ishaq. Ishaq guided police teams to the forest location used by the syndicate as a base of operations.
Current intelligence indicates that Musbahu Ishaq secured weaponry from Rabiu Hassan, which he then provided to Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a fugitive bandit leader thought to be situated in a Katsina State forest. While authorities recovered the rifles and ammunition hidden at the Dajin Madam site, efforts continue to locate the remaining syndicate members, secure further illegal weapons, and prepare the cases for judicial prosecution.
