The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into the Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 2, Moshood Jimoh, following accusations made by internet personality Martins Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan. Officials confirmed that Jimoh has been summoned for questioning as part of a formal internal review.
Regarding the legal aspects of the case, police spokesperson CSP Ani Iniedu stated that the relevant criminal allegations have already been investigated and are currently being handled by the courts. The Force emphasized that it will not engage in media trials or permit public opinion to interfere with judicial proceedings, noting that the case is now under legal adjudication following guidance from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
To ensure a thorough review, the Force CID in Abuja has also requested that Otse appear on July 30, 2026, to provide evidence supporting his accusations. The police reiterated that these actions demonstrate their dedication to accountability, ensuring that all misconduct claims are examined via official channels, regardless of the individuals’ status or public standing.
