A overnight drone operation by Ukraine resulted in at least five fatalities and ten injuries near Moscow, according to regional governor Andrei Vorobyov. The strike ignited a fire at an industrial warehouse located in Novoselki, Chekhov, approximately 69km south of the Kremlin. Although the official did not identify the specific target, reports link the facility to Wildberries, a major Russian retail firm often referred to as the Russian Amazon. Kyiv asserts that these depots support Russian military operations, a claim Moscow denies.
Reports indicate that Wildberries warehouses in St. Petersburg and Tver were also targeted during the same period. While Wildberries has not issued a public statement, they acknowledged that their St. Petersburg facility sustained damage. Meanwhile, the Russian defense ministry stated that its forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 320 drones overnight.
The conflict intensified as Russia launched its own series of strikes across Ukraine. In the port city of Mykolaiv, an 89-year-old woman was killed and seven others were injured, including two young girls. Furthermore, a strike on a residential area in Sumy claimed the lives of a woman and two children, while causing additional injuries. In Dnipro, a food storage facility was set ablaze, and authorities reported further casualties in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
