Celtic Set for Champions League Play-off Clash with LASK

Celtic will face Austrian side LASK in the Champions League play-off round, with the first leg scheduled for mid-August.

Scottish champions Celtic have been paired with Austrian titleholders LASK in the upcoming Champions League play-off round. The opening leg is scheduled to take place in Scotland on August 18 or 19, with the return match set for the following week.

As a seeded team, Celtic avoided several other potential opponents, including Norwegian side Viking Stavanger and the winners of qualifiers featuring clubs from Slovenia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Denmark, and Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, UEFA has finalized the potential groupings for the Europa League and Conference League play-offs. Rangers, should they bypass Jagiellonia Bialystok, are looking at a variety of potential matchups including teams from Norway, Northern Ireland, Georgia, and Sweden. Hearts, following their drop from Champions League qualification, are preparing for a test against Benfica, with a complicated path of potential opponents determined by those results. Similarly, Motherwell and Hibernian have received clarity on their prospective European adversaries depending on the outcomes of their respective third-round qualifying ties.
