Marc Skinner is no longer the head coach of the Manchester United Women’s team. This decision comes despite the coach signing a two-year deal last summer that included an additional one-year option.
The club confirmed the exit was reached through a mutual agreement. Appointed in 2021 as the successor to Casey Stoney, Skinner oversaw a period of notable activity for the squad. His tenure included reaching four domestic cup finals and securing the club’s first major trophy, the 2024 FA Cup.
Under his leadership, the team achieved a second-place finish in the 2022-23 Women’s Super League, which allowed them to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time. During the most recent campaign, the side reached the League Cup final and advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals, though a fourth-place league finish meant missing out on European qualification for the upcoming year.
Manchester United acknowledged Skinner’s commitment and professional conduct throughout his three years with the organization, expressing gratitude for his efforts in advancing the program.
