Ramsay-Peaty expressed frustration that his performance did not reflect his rigorous training efforts. He acknowledged the personal choices required of an elite athlete, such as time away from his son, noting that the sting of falling short is significant given the long wait between major championships. He described this Commonwealth Games appearance as likely his last.
Looking toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, the veteran is reconsidering his strategy. While the 100m breaststroke has historically been his signature event, he questioned its long-term viability for him. He suggested that focusing on the 50m sprint might be a more realistic goal due to his natural power, though he remains committed to finding the right formula to return to his peak speed.
