Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has guaranteed that the current administration will not leave any federal infrastructure work unfinished. During a recent site visit to road projects in Ebonyi State, he emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is dedicated to finishing essential national infrastructure to foster economic expansion and better logistics.
Umahi noted that these projects have generated significant employment and bolstered local economies. He encouraged citizens in the South-East to recognize the government’s efforts rather than focusing solely on critiques. The minister highlighted the use of reinforced concrete for roads, noting that this strategy increases longevity and supports the domestic cement market.
While acknowledging that all national issues cannot be solved immediately, Umahi stated that substantial infrastructure gains have been made. He defended federal borrowing, explaining that funds are directed toward vital projects instead of administrative costs. Additionally, the minister reported that 30 percent of the 125-kilometre Section One in Ebonyi is complete, with work now starting on the 168-kilometre Section Two spanning Ebonyi, Enugu, and Kogi states. He concluded by urging residents to support the administration’s future political goals, citing the tangible benefits brought to the region.
