Eintracht Frankfurt Secures Raphael Onyedika from Club Brugge

Eintracht Frankfurt has signed Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika from Club Brugge on a contract extending through June 2031.

Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has officially acquired Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika from Belgian title-holders Club Brugge. The 25-year-old has committed to a long-term deal lasting until June 2031.

Onyedika moves to Germany following a productive four-year stint that began after his 2022 transfer from FC Midtjylland. While in Belgium, he became a key defensive figure for Brugge, securing two league titles and participating in 24 UEFA Champions League matches.

Frankfurt sporting board member Markus Krösche lauded the acquisition, highlighting the player’s physical presence, tactical awareness, and remarkable consistency as vital assets for the squad’s future.

Internationally, Onyedika represents Nigeria. Since his 2022 debut, he has earned 26 caps and netted three goals for the Super Eagles. Frankfurt aims to utilize his skills to bolster their midfield and push for a Champions League qualification spot under coach Adi Hütter.

The midfielder may feature in the DFB-Pokal opener against St. Tönis on August 21, ahead of the Bundesliga season debut against 1. FC Union Berlin on August 29.
