Benin U-17 women’s national team manager Idah Azonsou believes his squad can achieve a milestone by qualifying for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Following a resilient display in their narrow 3-2 loss against Nigeria at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne last weekend, the team remains hopeful.
The decisive second leg of the final qualifying stage is scheduled for Saturday at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo. Azonsou is eager to guide the Young Amazons to their inaugural World Cup appearance.
The coach anticipates another intense battle against the Nigerian squad managed by Akeem Busari.
