Woman killed in Lagos building collision following high-speed crash

A female driver was killed instantly when her vehicle veered off the road and collided with a building in the Mongoro area of Lagos on Sunday.

A female motorist lost her life on Sunday after her Toyota Sienna, bearing license plate LND 162 HB, careened off the road at Mongoro near Ile-Zik in Lagos. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) categorized the event as a fatal single-vehicle accident.

Reports indicate the driver lost control of her vehicle, causing it to strike a structure adjacent to the road. She was the sole individual in the car and died instantly upon impact. LASTMA patrol officers arrived quickly to stabilize the area, managing traffic flow to prevent congestion and further accidents while recovery efforts were underway.

Police personnel from the Afonka station assisted at the site until the scene was cleared. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, expressed sorrow over the incident and emphasized the lethal risks associated with excessive speed. He urged all drivers to adhere strictly to traffic laws and maintain their vehicles properly to prevent mechanical failure. The agency offered its formal condolences to the family of the deceased.
