Sam Smith is confident his peak years lie ahead following a contract extension that ties him to Wrexham until 2029. Since his arrival from Reading in January 2025, the 28-year-old has established himself as a vital asset for the Championship side.
Over the course of 66 appearances, Smith has netted 17 goals. His efforts were instrumental in securing promotion from League One during his debut season, followed by a strong push for the play-offs in 2025-26. Reflecting on his development, Smith noted that he is gaining valuable experience and understands exactly how to contribute to the squad over the coming three years.
During the previous Championship campaign, Smith registered eight goals, placing him third among Wrexham scorers behind teammates Kieffer Moore and Josh Windass. He attributes much of his individual success to the strategic direction of manager Phil Parkinson and the caliber of talent recruited by the club.
