LSDPC Restores Damaged LASTMA Facility and Provides Vehicles Following #EndSARS Protests

The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation has rebuilt the LASTMA Zone 25 station destroyed during the 2020 #EndSARS protests and donated two new operational vehicles to improve traffic management.

The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) has completed the reconstruction of the LASTMA Zone 25 office, located along the Bariga and Oworonshoki routes. This site had been left in ruins since the 2020 #EndSARS demonstrations. Alongside the facility handover, the LSDPC provided two new patrol vehicles to boost the agency’s daily operations.

For years, the damaged station stood as a stark symbol of the 2020 unrest, hindering the ability of traffic officers to perform their duties effectively. By rebuilding the site, the LSDPC aims to support better infrastructure for public service. During the handover, Derin Phillips, representing LSDPC Managing Director Ayodeji Joseph, noted that the project highlights the necessity of inter-agency cooperation. He stated that the corporation remains dedicated to enhancing public services through such corporate social responsibility efforts.

The General Manager of LASTMA accepted the keys and the revamped building, noting that these improvements will significantly lift staff morale. With the new office and additional vehicles, officers are better equipped to manage traffic flow and respond to emergencies in the busy Bariga-Oworonshoki corridor.
