Arewa Professional Forum Advocates for Nationwide Digital Governance in MDAs

The Arewa Professional Forum encourages the Federal Government to accelerate digital adoption across all MDAs to fix administrative lapses and improve transparency.

The Arewa Professional Forum (APF) is calling on the Federal Government to fast-track the transition to paperless, digital administration throughout all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). In a statement released on July 31, 2026, by National President Comrade Auwal Muhammed, the group argued that recent controversy involving the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) highlights an urgent need for robust institutional systems rather than focusing on assigning blame.

The APF emphasized that government institutions must move away from manual procedures that lead to inefficiency and weak documentation. They praised the work of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who has spearheaded major digital initiatives over the last two years. These efforts include the implementation of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System, GovMail, and the 1-GOV Cloud Platform, which are designed to enhance accountability and transparency.

According to the Forum, replacing traditional paperwork with digital platforms facilitates faster decision-making, improved record management, and creates clear audit trails. These reforms are already yielding positive results, particularly in Northern Nigeria, where digital service delivery and merit-based systems have seen marked improvement. The APF urged the government to maintain its commitment to these technological upgrades, stating that modernization is essential for public trust and long-term economic stability.
