Kano State police have taken three individuals into custody regarding the theft of fuel pumps valued at ₦10.2 million. The incident occurred on July 25, 2026, at the Jajire Filling Station in Aku Village, Gaya Local Government Area.
The suspects reportedly immobilized the station security staff during the 2:15 a.m. raid before removing six dispensing machines. Police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa confirmed that officers from the Special Intervention Squad tracked and arrested the men on July 29, 2026.
The arrested individuals are Bishir Abubakar, 60, Shamsu Abdullahi, 30, and Alhaji Shamsu Lawan, 56. During questioning, the trio admitted to purchasing the stolen equipment for ₦5.2 million from a man named Usman Ibrahim. Authorities are currently searching for Ibrahim, who remains at large, while working to retrieve the stolen property. CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori praised the investigative team for their efficiency and vowed to continue cracking down on criminal syndicates within the state.
