President Bola Tinubu has selected Yakubu Jang, the son of former Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang, to serve as a Senior Special Assistant. Vice President Kashim Shettima shared the news on Saturday during a ceremony in Jos, Plateau State, celebrating the 80th birthday of the elder Jang and the release of his autobiography.
While the specific responsibilities of the role were not detailed, Vice President Shettima noted that the selection underscores the President’s belief in Yakubu Jang’s ability to serve the nation effectively. The announcement was met with significant approval from the attendees present at the event.
The gathering brought together numerous notable figures, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, various lawmakers, and military leaders, to honor Senator Jang’s extensive career. The former governor has previously served as a military administrator, a two-term governor, and a senator. His new autobiography, titled “From Soldiering to Politics: Here I Stand,” documents his decades of service, which participants described as a legacy of patriotism and dedication to Nigeria.
