Nigerian musical artist Damini Ogulu, widely recognized as Burna Boy, has identified Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal as the premier young talents in professional football. During a recent discussion, the Grammy award winner expressed his admiration for both athletes.
While Yamal is 19 and Mainoo is 21, both were selected for their respective national teams during the 2026 World Cup. Yamal played a pivotal role for Spain as they secured the championship title by defeating Argentina. In contrast, Mainoo did not see any playing time for England throughout the tournament.
When asked for his assessment, Burna Boy highlighted Yamal as the standout young player. However, he also emphasized his personal loyalty, adding, “but just cause of Man United, I will throw in Kobbie Mainoo.” The musician further declared Manchester United his favorite club and labeled Mainoo as their top player.
