Super Eagles coach Éric Chelle has praised the Flying Eagles for their impressive showing against Togo. According to reports, the reigning champions earned a spot in the semi-finals after a 3-0 win over the Sparrow Hawks in Yamoussoukro this Thursday.
The match remained scoreless until the second half, when Abdu Maikaba’s squad intensified their attack. Abdumuiz Adeleke netted two goals, with substitute Abdoulaye Agbeloye adding the third. Chelle, who attended the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Cote d’Ivoire to support the team, was pleased with the momentum shift.
Regarding the second half, Chelle noted that the team performed well by applying constant pressure, winning the ball in advanced areas, and converting their scoring opportunities. The Flying Eagles are now set to play their final group stage match against Burkina Faso this Sunday.
