Real Madrid has reached an agreement to transfer Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios to Fulham. Sky Sport reports that the Premier League club is set to spend a total of £42.3m, or €50m, to secure both individuals. Both athletes developed their skills within the Real Madrid youth system.
Gonzalo Garcia, a 22-year-old forward who earned top-scorer honors at the previous Club World Cup, will account for approximately £34m of the total. Cesar Palacios, an 18-year-old midfielder who earned his first senior appearance for Madrid in January, is valued at about £8.5m.
Alvaro Arbeloa, the newly appointed manager at Fulham, spearheaded the effort to sign the pair. His previous experience as a coach within Real Madrid’s academy and first-team staff gave him a direct connection to both talents.
