Italian league winners Inter Milan officially confirmed the signing of defender John Stones on Thursday. The 32-year-old England international joins the squad on a free transfer after his decade-long tenure with Manchester City concluded last month.
Stones, who recently represented his country at the World Cup—securing a third-place finish—has agreed to a two-year contract with the Serie A side. During his time at the Etihad Stadium, the defender was instrumental in a trophy-laden period under Pep Guardiola, collecting six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups, and a Champions League trophy.
His final years in England were hampered by recurring injuries, resulting in only nine league appearances last season. Stones, who reached 94 caps for his nation during the tournament hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, is expected to feature for Inter when they begin their league campaign against Monza on August 22.
