Jamie Carragher Doubts Bradley Barcola Can Substitute Mohamed Salah at Liverpool

Jamie Carragher argues that PSG’s Bradley Barcola is not a suitable replacement for Mohamed Salah because he plays on the left flank where Liverpool already has sufficient depth.

Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher believes the club has an urgent need to recruit a right-sided winger. Although reports suggest that the Anfield side has entered discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding Bradley Barcola, Carragher remains skeptical about whether he is the right fit to succeed Mohamed Salah.

Carragher expressed confusion over the club’s transfer focus, noting that they are pursuing a left-winger despite lacking depth on the opposite side of the pitch. Responding to a social media inquiry about Barcola potentially filling Salah’s shoes, the pundit stated that the player operates on the wrong flank. He pointed out that Liverpool already possesses multiple options for the left wing, including Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and potentially Florian Wirtz, yet they currently have no specialized cover for the right.
