York Knights Secure Historic Magic Weekend Win Against Huddersfield Giants

York Knights claimed a 36-24 win over the Huddersfield Giants at Magic Weekend, securing their fifth league victory of the season and leaving their opponents at the bottom of the table.

The York Knights earned their inaugural victory at Magic Weekend, defeating the Huddersfield Giants 36-24 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. This result marks the Knights’ fifth league win of the 2026 campaign, allowing them to leapfrog Toulouse in the standings before Toulouse’s upcoming clash with the Catalans Dragons.

York’s offensive effort was spearheaded by Cody Hunter and Jon Bennison, who each crossed the line twice. Additional scores from David Nofoaluma, Nikau Williams, and Denive Balmforth secured consecutive wins for the club. Despite a spirited response from Huddersfield featuring tries by Chris Patolo, Zane Dunford, Oli Russell, and George Flanagan, the Giants were unable to recover from a deficit established early in the second half. The loss leaves Huddersfield firmly at the base of the Super League table.
